Tuesday

noticed:

I have the same amount of posts in this blog as I do in my other one. CRAZY! I've had this blog for about 2 years and the other one, only about 6 months.

Anyway, they've finally caught up with one another.

Momentous occasion.

Thanks Janeen!!

Dear Lindsey,

His name is Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
I agree.
Still have a crush on him.
And I really want to watch 500 Days of Summer now.

Tidbit

I find social awkwardness to be endearing.

love this picture

Photo cred: Deters family ♥
Not because it's of the boy I used to be head over heals for

But because it's such a great picture.
It depicts [almost] everything I want in a man.
[the plaid pants and too-long hair kind of lower the wanting factor just a bit...]
but it's still hot.

Monday

3rd Rock from the Sun

Favorite. 90s show. Ever.

Sunday

In the last 60 seconds...

I've craved taco salad, peach tea, string cheese, chili, nachos...that's all I can remember.

Just a funny story

Last night, I was hanging out with my new friend Kevin. I told him about my social experiment, you know, the one where I ask every red head I meet what their favorite color is.

I said "I'm convinced every red-head's favorite color is-" and at the same time, we both said "green"! Click!

This very well may be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Saturday

My thoughts

There is no "what might have been"
There is only what was.
So learn to live with your mistakes.
Accept your flaws.
Work on becoming a better person.
Regret nothing.
Because tomorrow is another day
and it's one more chance to make the world a better place.

Friday

CDs I NEEEEED

Mayday Parade
Valencia
All Time Low
Hit The Lights

So far that's all.

thinking of Beth. Also thinking when I get frustrated I should ask myself "What would Bethy do?" Such a classy lady.
missing Andrew.
not missing Zach. Progress.
trying to remember what I wanted to post earlier.

And who said I couldn't multi-task?!

Tuesday

You may reconizzzze

Read this article.
It's about one Brandi Hosman.
I met her when I lived in Boise.
She's hilarious!!
She's such an inspiration and a ray of sunshine.
Anyway, she was featured in the Times News a few weeks ago.
I was cleaning the house and found the newspaper.
Such a good article.
And a truly wonderful, amazing, awe-inspiring daughter of God.
She's incredible.

Today,

at this book store/coffee shop,
(Say 'hi' to Brad.)

Catie and I were getting cremosas (that's Italian for 'cream soda') Alice, the proprietor, had Mumford & Sons playing. I, being the one who HAS to know the artist of songs playing (mostly if they sound familiar, or if I like the song) said, "This is Mumford and Sons". Alice heard me and was a bit surprised. Turns out she really loves them and that whole genre. She loves finding new music that is not mainstream. (She's hipster like that). So, using my [limited] knowledge of that type of music, remembered that I had a lot of it just sitting on my external hard drive from Matta.
So I told her I'd make her a list.
I hope I have my hard drive here AND that I have a lot of what she's looking for.
That would be real cool.

Hey look...

more pictures. these are from the internet though.

In case you don't know, this is Lindsey's and my relationship to a tee.

PARENTING: You're doing it right.

Love!
This was on a blog I follow on tumblr. The girl who posted it isn't LDS, but she finds temples to be some of the most beautiful pieces of architecture. That makes my soul smile.

"Every damn day."

As promised

These are all pictures I took with my dad's old Canonet 28 camera.

Picture on picture on picture

Got some good ones...

Got some not-so-good ones....

The old Burley Processing plant.
My mom worked here for 2 weeks one summer.
Ah, the stories...
Not sure how old these are, but they are all landlines...
So at least like 10ish years.

Where's the TP

it was on the back of the toilet last week. Today, there wasn't any.
lucky for me, I looked before I went. Therefore, I didn't have to walk out of the bathroom with a dirty bum and get some more, being the only one home, and all.
And we all know the dogs aren't good for getting anything useful for you when you need it.
*cough, jet and the wii remote Cough*

I know you're probably like "She's still on this?!"

But I just have to say, dear boy, stop being a diva.
okay. there.
I'm done.

ive been without my computer.

i apologize greatly for the inconvenience.

Thursday

Lindsey,

You're my
"Sluts are people, too!"

So, funny story..

This lady I work with is a complete b-word. And that's the reason I  (we) do the things we do.

ONe day she told me that I can't leave boxes in the garbage cart. I know for a fact that it is perfectly okay for me to do this. It's pointless for me to have to make more than one trip to the back, especially when it's just for 5 boxes.

So, me being the brat that I am, I left boxes in there for her. One of the other girls I work with said "You should write 'Kiss my a**!' on a box and leave it in there." I thought long and hard about doing that...only not writing those exact words.

A week goes by (yesterday), this lady leaves piles of trash and a huge mess for me to clean up. Sweet revenge is a dish best served cold. I left this little beauty in the garbage cart last night before I left work:

She was pretty angry this morning. She didn't say anything to me about it. Doreen (Boss-Lady) left a note for the baker and decorators (but mostly for this lady) reminding them to take out their trash. So this lady was having a tizzy fit about me "leaving all this garbage". 1 box. It was 1 box! Let's compare that to the CARTSSSS of trash you left here yesterday for me to take care of, LADY! (It's okay, cause I got sweet with one of the bag boys and asked him to take it back for me. What a cutie!)

Anywho, Lady didn't say anything to me about it. But she sure did make it known that she wasn't at all happy about my love note.

Wednesday

Realized:

I don't have a bad memory,  I just don't pay enough attention to the things I need to be remembering. I met the new girl in the deli today. Can't remember her name.

There's nothing wrong with shamelessly flirting.

Even if it is with a 30-year-old married guy.

Tuesday

Wow

what a crazy, hectic, stressful month it has been. For everyone! I've recently realized that the only reason I'm still chuggin' along is because of my friends. You all are lifesavers! It just hit me tonight that I've been communicating more with my friends in the last few weeks than I have in the last few months, combined! I think it's because we all are having a particularly hard time, and we depend so much on each other. When I think about it, I feel like there is more of an emotional bond, like a spiderweb, connecting all of them to me, than there ever was before. who knew that living so far away could bring you so much closer to the ones you care most about?

I feel

like listening to Mae.

Here's a little treat for ya:

It's my favorite song of theirs.

And so is this one:

...aaaand this one:

I hope you loved them.

Katie Costello. Cassette Tape.

You'll love this, Lindz, I promise.

Sci-fi thoughts

I've been thinking lately about the relation between people who watched sci-fi and fantasy growing up and their amazing, quick-witted, and vividly colorful imaginations.

This has actually caused me to want to watch it myself. I always kind of steered clear of sci-fi growing up, because it wasn't "cool". My parents are trekkies, so, of course, we refused to watch it.

If I had time to really watch TV, I would probably watch Star Trek: The Next Generation. And Stargate: SG-9. Or whatever that one is called. And maybe Battlestar Galactica, but maybe not.

And any fantasy TV show I come across, because I love mythical creatures and forests and magic.

kinda like waldo

You all know the feeling doing your business and then realizing there is no toilet paper.

Well, my brother-in-law likes to give me that minor heart attack like 4 times a week when he puts the tp in a different spot in the bathroom.

We can't have it on the roll thing, no no, that would be too easy. And we can't designate a spot for it, that's just crazy talk.

Usually it's either on the bathtub or the window sill. Both logical places, considering their location in relation to the toilet.

Tonight, it was on the sink. Umm...weird?

I think he's trying to turn it into a game.

Well, I've got one thing to tell you:

Challenge excepted.

recent thinkings

What kind of mess would the world be in if lint didn't stick to itself?

Is there centrifugal force in space?

That's all for now.
There will be more to come...

Monday

Had a great night!

I had the day off, so I was able to go to FHE. I was kind of late (there may have been a huge sale at Idaho Watersports), but Brad (who was riding with Firkins) arranged it so I could meet up with them down the road.
I'm so glad, too. I loved riding with those boys! They hilarious and NOT complete douchebags! I was cramped in the back of Firkins' Dakota with Tanner, but all is good. I was happy. We went caving out at Baker Caves. I didn't know they existed, and I didn't know it was Mark Baker that discovered them. Crazy. I went to school with his kids (douches.) {Sidenote: I want Shari's right now} I played Indiana Jones and was exploring as much as my thighs and extremely tight pants would let me. Then, in one of the caves, they built a fire and we roasted hot dogs. Pretty sure I inhaled enough smoke to equal 4 bonfires, but it was so much fun! [except for the spiders everywhere. grosssssss.] I'm going to have all sorts of bruises on my knees in the morning. The only sad part is Sam (my oldest brother, who I love and miss like crazy!) texted me and asked if I was free to get ice cream. SAD DAY! I miss him so much, and so every opportunity I can get to see him, I try to take. Too bad I was out in the middle of the desert with the branch. And I told him that. So he asked why I was in the middle of nowhere with a branch. I said "warding off wolverines." I didn't get a response on that one.....

I was at Wal-Mart today

I'm a sinner, I know. But whatever.
Anyway, saw a guy with a baby.
SOOOO cute!! I love it, just love it!
Also, another guy with tattoos.
The two together, just an explosion of ATTRACTIVE!

Sunday

Okay, here it is

So, as you may have heard, a wonderful family in the area lost their little girl last week. As luck would have it, she was being babysat when it happened. I've been reading the little girl's mother's blog and oh my gosh. I can honestly say I have never seen anyone with so much faith as that family. This unfortunate accident has been such a blessing, not only to the family, or even the friends of the family, but to the whole Mini-Cassia area. The stake center where the funeral was held was packed with caring neighbors, friends, and family members of both the Darringtons and the Osterhouts (babysitters. Also, my cousins. Minor details). I'll be the first to admit that I did not know Layne and Krissy (parents of Baby Jayci) at all. I met them once 2 years ago when I was visiting their family with Lindsey. She was dating Layne's youngest brother (who I've known for years) at the time. They are an amazing testament of love and obedience to our Father's plan. Of course, nobody can really answer why it had to happen, but little by little it is showing more and more the blessings coming from this tragic incident. From what I've heard, Jayci was the sweetest little hellion. She was gorgeous, and absolutely adored by everyone who knew her. She was curious and not afraid of adventure. She died doing what she loved, (which is the best way to go, in my opinion) playing in the water. It's going to take a long time for this to be forgotten, but she will always be in the hearts of those she touched. She is the perfect example of living life to the fullest. Even if she was only 18 months old.

So I don't usually do this...

But my outfit was just way too cute NOT to blog about.

I'm not a frugal shopper, by any means.

My mom can attest to this.
So I'm not going to tell you about all the great deals I got on these clothes, because there weren't any.

Except the shrug.
Got it for like $10 at Old Nave.

Top: Maurices $24

Pants: Maurices $42

TOMS: Tradehome $45
Now before you go off on me for spending so much on canvas shoes, let me just tell you that I gave shoes just like mine to some kid in Africa (or somewhere) who reallllly needed them.
I'm a good person. Really.

100% awesome: half of my dad, half of my mom.
"Oh, so lady-like." -My mom. Sultan of Sarcasm.
So cute, right?
and kinda clashy?
That's how my whole wardrobe is.
I like it.
Because it's not too clashy,
just enough.

AAAAAAAnyway.
See ya.
