This Week's Adventures....
My story begins with last saturday. Lindsey had to go to a cultural event for one her classes, so she chose to go to the Red River Pow-Wow in Nampa, and asked me to go with her. It was awesome! I loved it! We first got there and were walking around, not sure what to do because there was nothing going on. Anywhere. So we stopped and I looked to my right and saw dear old Kenneth! He was in a few of my classes at ITT-Tech, but had to take a few quarters off, due to his wife's death. He is part Indian, so he was there celebrating his cultural heritage. (good word usage, huh?) Anywho, I talked to him for a minute, then Linds and I decided to go check this thing out a little more, which meant we went and sat down in the bleachers. Whoo-freakin-hoo, right? So we're sitting there, they start dinner, and we weren't sure if the food was free or not, and we didn't even want to chance the embarrassment of finding out it wasn't free because neither of us had money. So, we're sitting there, talking about how Lindsey has the full right to wear cowgirl boots because her ancestors are dairy farmers, which, to be honest, would give her more of the right to wear irrigation boots than anything, but whatever, it all works. Then, I look over, and see Ken walking toward the food line and motioning for us to come eat. So I asked him, with my own hand motions, if it cost money. He said no, so Lindsey told me to go get food and she'd save the seats or something...I don't know what she was saving them from, afterall, they were like the only two seats that actually had someone in them....so I'm walking down the bleachers, I'm 3 steps from the bottom, and BAM! my heal gets caught, my toes get bent the wrong way, and I roll my ankle, landed on the floor, and said a few choice words. Here we were trying to save ourselves the embarrassment of being poor, and there I go, showing to the Indian nation that I'm a clumsy, starving, misfit. WTF??! So I sit up, look at Lindsey and she's laughing her FACE off. So was I. I mean, I was laughing so hard, I had tears rolling down my cheeks, but part of those tears were from the pain. Because oh, baby! did it hurt!! I haven't rolled my ankle like that in a long time! Lindsey came down to my aid, finally, after catching her cool, then we went and joined Ken (who, luckily, didn't see me fall) in the food line. He asked me about the fall, and wondered if it was because I was so excited to learn that the food was free. Whatever Ken. We got our delicious food, and met Ken's family, including his adorable daughter, Tanay Lilly, who decided to slide off her chair while my arm was on the armrest. The seat flipped up and smacked me straight in the elbow. Laura is now 0-2. Fail. I actually cried mostly from the pain of this one. It hurt worse than spraining my ankle. No joke! The pow-pow started, and it was awesome! I wish I was Indian. Srsly. We had a grand old time, hanging out with Ken and his daughter, who somehow, we ended up babysitting. Ken just up and disappeared, leaving her in our care. Had we known how long he was going to be gone, we could have influenced this child in a greater way than we had already. She kept us pretty busy, stealing, then dropping my phone, shooting videos with my phone and Lindsey's camera, and on and on...Finally Ken showed back up, this time, he had his younger brother, Jake with him. Jake is a massage therapist. He just moved back here from Hawai'i and now works at Massage Envy. EPIC F-A-I-L just sayin. But, he worked on my ankle and made me feel better, til Lindsey realized what he was doing and decided she wanted some of that and put her leg on top of mine and told him to rub her calves. Thanks Lindsey. Because I'm not in pain at all. We had fun. Homeboy was a little friendly, but he was fun. Celia showed up a little bit later and played with us. When the Pow-Pow got over, we stood as they removed the Colors, and dear little Tanay was playing on the chair and jumped on my back. The first time, I was ready for it, but she did choke a little, so she got down. A couple seconds later, she jumped on me, completely unawares, and pulled me down. I was bent completely backwards, squeeshing the poor girl between me and the chair. I couldn't pull myself up and had to have homeboy help me up off her. She stared crying, but Lindsey bribed her with a piece of gum, and she forgave me. :] So there's the Pow-Pow. Afterwards, we went to Wal-Mart, then out to Boise to hang out with this kid Marcos. Just watch this video.... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/video/video.php?v=598432376494&ref=mf <--that's Marcos. Playing Celia's game called Eat this Ice Cream as Seductively as You Can. Marcos=win. BUT FIRST!!! you HAVE to watch his face at the end of the vid where he's going in for the initial seductivity..? epic! also, sidenote, Marcos is in love with Lindsey. Anyways, This is pretty long, so, thanks for reading, and boys, go do some hores. HAHAHAHA!!!
Whose Flip Flops are These??!
Tonight, Jeni and I went to Jeremy's to use his hot tub...we both wore black old navy flip flops and when we were getting ready to leave, Jeni noticed she had one of my shoes, and I had one of hers. So we switched, then went home. When we got home, we took off the shoes and Jen started looking at them and noticed that two of the shoes matched and the other two didn't. We have no idea where our other flip flops went. We're thinking that the pair that matched are Dani's, Jeni's older sister. Who knows? Maybe Dani has one of mine and one of Jen's and is wearing them around without even noticing that they don't match at all....food for thought. Night!
The Man that Made my Night a Little Better. . .
So I'm sitting in class right now, I've been having trouble getting on the Internet with my computer for a long time and just today it decided to stop working completely. So I come to class, tell this kid Josh about my problem, and he takes a look at my computer, cause he's a wiz. So he messes with it like for the first half of class and figures that my Internet Explorer is just completely shot. And since I couldn't get on the Internet, he couldn't download Internet again. Finally, he had the grand idea to use my thumb drive, go down to the library, and download Mozilla Firefox. He then put it on my computer, and here I am! Blogging about my crappy night that turned semi-decent, all because of lil Joshy who claims to be 17 but won't tell me his real age. kthnxbye.
All Hallow's Eve....Eve.
OH BABY! What a fun night!! First, we hit up the Institute Dance Party, which was pretty cool, I arrived late, because I'm just that cool. I found my lil sheepy and white trash hottay and partied it up with them, then, I looked over and saw my Ontario boys, dressed as none other than the Village People...Minus the indian, but it's ok, Michaela stepped in. Those guys know how to party!! They looked great! And they won the best group costume, of course! Anyways, Michaela and Jen had an after party, so we hit that up and partied til 2 a.m.!! There were a TON of people that showed up, I didn't even know some of them. Mik Reber was there and really was one of the only boys there for a little while, so he was feeling pretty hot, then as more guys showed up, he kinda sunk back into the shadows, so to say...I found it rather funny, the more guys that showed up and started dancing with us girls, the more he just sat there, then I guess he decided he should get in on the action so he started dancing a little. I found it pathetic. There was one period where I started a one man mosh pit. Everyone was just standing around in a big circle, so I jumped in there and started jumping around. Then the boys started pushing me and it was fun until Mik jumped in and gave me a shove. I stopped right there and fake-charged him. He thought I was going to shove him. HA! I wouldn't touch him even if you paid me. I don't want to catch anything... But he did provide the boomin sound system, so I guess he's good for something...sometimes. But really, not that often. ANYways, nuff o' him. Lindsey, the Ontario Boys, and I cut up a rug alllll night!! Spencer was the contruction worker, and the one with the most energy...ever. Bo was the cowboy, and rocked at it! William was the sexy fireman, with whom Lar Lar had some fun!! Cake was the police officer, and Cassidy was the biker. We had so much fun dancing all night! Cowboy Josh, just stood there most the time, which was alright by me, cause I'll be honest, he made a pretty good lookin' cowboy!! We finally got him to bust a move...a little bit...eventually the party died down and people started to filter out, so it was just the girls, McKay, Josh and Mik. We hung, talked, captured some photos, and one by one the boys left, til it was just Josh chillin with like 8 girls...getit getit cowboy!! We didn't even leave until a little before 3. And yes, I did have class at 9 the next morning! But don't worry, I made it for the last half...
What We've Been Up To...
Oh My G. (and by G, I mean gangster.) Last weekend, the 11th ward went to Pinetop to get it ready for the winter. I tagged along and had a ball! Lindz and I got up there later than the rest of the group, when we got there everyone was just playing around and having fun. We heard word of a hot spring that was up there and so a group of us went and found it...never doing that again. We were promised a quarter mile hike, which isn't bad at all, the only problem was that it was straight down hill. On the way down the ravine, I stepped over a log, scraped the inside of my calf on a branch knubb, and it bruised instantly. Gotta love it. It is B-E-A-U-TIFUL now!!
The hot spring was nice, when we finally got to it, kinda cozy, but nice. On the way back up the hill, everyone left me behind, of course, because that's just what everyone does. But James Abbott, the lil heavyheart stayed behind with me so I wasn't alone. Despite the treacherous hike, we had a lot of fun! When we got back to the lodge, after 1 am, everyone was ready for bed and laying around on the floor. So Lindz and I got ready for bed and staked out our plots on the floor and...fell asleep. A few minutes later, Lindsey sat up saying "Heather, there's a huge spider on you." I was like, what thee?! and Lindz just looked at me all confused and mumbled something, then went back to sleep...weird.
When morn' rolled around, we had breakfast, and got to work! I was in Jennetta's group, and we moved tables around...Brother Hall told us to wait til we had more people there to help us, so we could have 4 people to a table...yeah, we didn't. We're not weak sauce! We could handle it! And we did! You should have SEEN us go! After we were all done showing off for them boiz, we headed back to the lodge, Ryan Blaser made us get in the back of the pickup, I wanted to walk, but whatever...anyways, we decided that since we've never been to Idaho City, we'd go, and it didn't hurt that we were so close. It was a cute lil town...It had the coolest little antiques shop, too. We walked around a little bit and saw main street..? I guess that's what it was...we weren't there for very long, but it was pretty neat! Fun times!...fun, times...!
