This Week's Adventures....

My story begins with last saturday. Lindsey had to go to a cultural event for one her classes, so she chose to go to the Red River Pow-Wow in Nampa, and asked me to go with her. It was awesome! I loved it! We first got there and were walking around, not sure what to do because there was nothing going on. Anywhere. So we stopped and I looked to my right and saw dear old Kenneth! He was in a few of my classes at ITT-Tech, but had to take a few quarters off, due to his wife's death. He is part Indian, so he was there celebrating his cultural heritage. (good word usage, huh?) Anywho, I talked to him for a minute, then Linds and I decided to go check this thing out a little more, which meant we went and sat down in the bleachers. Whoo-freakin-hoo, right? So we're sitting there, they start dinner, and we weren't sure if the food was free or not, and we didn't even want to chance the embarrassment of finding out it wasn't free because neither of us had money. So, we're sitting there, talking about how Lindsey has the full right to wear cowgirl boots because her ancestors are dairy farmers, which, to be honest, would give her more of the right to wear irrigation boots than anything, but whatever, it all works. Then, I look over, and see Ken walking toward the food line and motioning for us to come eat. So I asked him, with my own hand motions, if it cost money. He said no, so Lindsey told me to go get food and she'd save the seats or something...I don't know what she was saving them from, afterall, they were like the only two seats that actually had someone in them....so I'm walking down the bleachers, I'm 3 steps from the bottom, and BAM! my heal gets caught, my toes get bent the wrong way, and I roll my ankle, landed on the floor, and said a few choice words. Here we were trying to save ourselves the embarrassment of being poor, and there I go, showing to the Indian nation that I'm a clumsy, starving, misfit. WTF??! So I sit up, look at Lindsey and she's laughing her FACE off. So was I. I mean, I was laughing so hard, I had tears rolling down my cheeks, but part of those tears were from the pain. Because oh, baby! did it hurt!! I haven't rolled my ankle like that in a long time! Lindsey came down to my aid, finally, after catching her cool, then we went and joined Ken (who, luckily, didn't see me fall) in the food line. He asked me about the fall, and wondered if it was because I was so excited to learn that the food was free. Whatever Ken. We got our delicious food, and met Ken's family, including his adorable daughter, Tanay Lilly, who decided to slide off her chair while my arm was on the armrest. The seat flipped up and smacked me straight in the elbow. Laura is now 0-2. Fail. I actually cried mostly from the pain of this one. It hurt worse than spraining my ankle. No joke! The pow-pow started, and it was awesome! I wish I was Indian. Srsly. We had a grand old time, hanging out with Ken and his daughter, who somehow, we ended up babysitting. Ken just up and disappeared, leaving her in our care. Had we known how long he was going to be gone, we could have influenced this child in a greater way than we had already. She kept us pretty busy, stealing, then dropping my phone, shooting videos with my phone and Lindsey's camera, and on and on...Finally Ken showed back up, this time, he had his younger brother, Jake with him. Jake is a massage therapist. He just moved back here from Hawai'i and now works at Massage Envy. EPIC F-A-I-L just sayin. But, he worked on my ankle and made me feel better, til Lindsey realized what he was doing and decided she wanted some of that and put her leg on top of mine and told him to rub her calves. Thanks Lindsey. Because I'm not in pain at all. We had fun. Homeboy was a little friendly, but he was fun. Celia showed up a little bit later and played with us. When the Pow-Pow got over, we stood as they removed the Colors, and dear little Tanay was playing on the chair and jumped on my back. The first time, I was ready for it, but she did choke a little, so she got down. A couple seconds later, she jumped on me, completely unawares, and pulled me down. I was bent completely backwards, squeeshing the poor girl between me and the chair. I couldn't pull myself up and had to have homeboy help me up off her. She stared crying, but Lindsey bribed her with a piece of gum, and she forgave me. :] So there's the Pow-Pow. Afterwards, we went to Wal-Mart, then out to Boise to hang out with this kid Marcos. Just watch this video.... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/video/video.php?v=598432376494&ref=mf <--that's Marcos. Playing Celia's game called Eat this Ice Cream as Seductively as You Can. Marcos=win. BUT FIRST!!! you HAVE to watch his face at the end of the vid where he's going in for the initial seductivity..? epic! also, sidenote, Marcos is in love with Lindsey. Anyways, This is pretty long, so, thanks for reading, and boys, go do some hores. HAHAHAHA!!!
